One thing is for certain, whenever a release date is announced there is going to be a flock of Samus fans that are already making themselves known with the whistle inside the hype train as it speeds past along the rails. With all of the heavy development work that has been happening for the title, it is likely that we will see a release of Metroid Prime 4 sometime in the next few years. It is detailed next to Metroid Prime 4 on the listings that the release date is “TBA”, in other words, it’s still to be announced for players. Upon observing this for the first time, there was some hope that a general timeframe may be showcased to readers but unfortunately, this was not what happened. Among the contents of this report, there was information on the primary launch dates for “Primary Nintendo Products” and Metroid Prime 4 was listed among everything else. Recently, the Financial Results report for the fiscal year ending March 2022 was released. There is a lot that can be expected from Metroid Prime 4 and only time will tell about all of the features we get to observe within the next installment. This kickstarted a chain reaction of fans revisiting the older Metroid games which was excellent to see a wider audience getting the chance to play through the games before the latest release. #Metroid prime 4 reactions seriesThe Metroid series has evolved immensely over the years as with any major franchise and ultimately, Metroid Dread had seen excellent success after its release. The details are very slim and unfortunately do not tell us too much but it has sparked new discussions about the release timeframe of the release date for Metroid Prime 4. Now there have been some extra findings about the game regarding its release date due to an official report by Nintendo. There was news of hiring a new lead producer back in 2020 and fans have been waiting for a lot more information about the experience. You'd basically just have two camps of either "when the heck are they gonna make Prime 4" and "just give up morons, they're never making Prime 4" going at it every time there's a direct, whereas at least now we know Prime 4 is an actual thing that is actively being made.Metroid Prime 4 has been talked about by the community for a while having been announced as far back as 2017. #Metroid prime 4 reactions mp4So yeah, I don't really think "we would feel much better right now" if MP4 hadn't been announced. Metroid Prime is a very "gamers' game" type of series, and just a few months into the Switch's life that's the kind of game announcement they needed to keep momentum and build confidence in their new console. There was no great way to play that particular hand, but I think in the context where they a) weren't expecting to have to reboot the whole thing and hand it to a different developer just a year and a half later and b) obviously didn't see COVID coming, I think it makes sense for them to have announced it when they did. Because they know the reactions they'd gotten previously whenever they announced anything Metroid-related or even just Retro Studios-related that wasn't Prime 4 were complete shitshows of "but where Prime 4". It was throwing a bone to the people that had already been "loudly ask when the game will finally come out" even without any kind if announcement (and who would only have gotten louder if Samus Returns had been announced without any hint of MP4). Announcing Prime 4 when they did meant we didn't get years of "but where's the real Metroid, for Switch? Does Nintendo even care about Metroid anymore if all they do with it is a remake for an outdated console?" posts/comments. Something to keep in mind, that same E3 they knew they were also gonna announce Samus Returns for the 3DS.
